PCPG Value Statement

Vision:

The premier organization for the advancement of the ethical and professional practice of geology and the allied sciences.

Mission:

We advance the practice of geology and allied sciences and the success of our members through advocacy, education, and networking.

As a Professional Geologist or allied environmental/earth resource scientist, you can make an investment in your career as well as maximize your value in the marketplace now by your active PCPG membership.  PCPG's strategic planning process incorporates advocacy, education, and networking elements into everything we do to ensure that we fulfill our vision and our mission for the benefit of our membership.

Advocacy

PCPG tracks and comments on proposed legislation and regulations that affect our membership through:

  • Our Governmental Affairs Committee;
  • Securing and encouraging placement of PCPG members on key Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection public advisory and stakeholder committees;
  • Outreach to academia to support and encourage geologic science curricula in our public schools and at Pennsylvania's public and private colleges and universities; and
  • Outreach to applicable related professional organizations to promote the use of licensed Professional Geologists.

Education

PCPG's Education Committee is a premier provider of educational courses relevant to your professional practice.  Members receive the added advantages of discounted course fees and preferential reservations when available space is limited.

Whether you are a licensed Professional Geologist in need of mandatory continuing education, or an environmental scientist or earth research professional, PCPG is your source for timely, relevant, and cost effective education.

Networking

PCPG understands that networking is a key to professional development and business success.

Our networking initiatives include social events for members, key stakeholders, and constituencies; opportunities to meet and greet key governmental policy and decision makers; and opportunities to network with potential business partners.
